Esteemed Students:
After our excellent first class I went home and slept the sleep of the just. The next morning I burst out of bed eager to start posting your assignments and went downstairs and stepped right into 3" of water in the finished basement. So instead I spent the day desperately looking for a utility pump, cutting out carpet, and pleading with plumbers.
I am going to run to school this morning and will post the firs set of readings in a few hours. Basically you will read the introduction to Wallace, the introductory essays in Gardner and LaPaglia, and some web readings including Becker's classic address "Everyman his Own Historian.". There will be another set of readings about Digital History is a second post.
And whatever you do, don't put your books in cardboard boxes on a basement floor.
