Week Two Recap

I thought we had a really good class last night! I was especially pleased with how carefully you had done the readings and the thoughtful points that you made. The only thing that marred the discussion was my excessive orchestrating of the conversation. How about having student discussion leaders in the future? The usual procedure is to have two leaders, who come up with 6-8 questions each beforehand and direct the conversation. We could begin next week if we had a couple of volunteers...

I apologize for the technical difficulties, caused by the Youngs brothers and their love on all things Apple.

To recap where we are heading: 1) next week you will hand in a reaction paper and a website review, 2) I will create a Blackboard website and we will move the between-class discussions there, 3) we will endeavor to have meaningful discussions of public history online in between classes, so Professor Cebula does not force us to stay until 10:30, 4) we will continue to work out the details as we go along. Is all of that clear and does it sound reasonable?

Thanks for taking my class!
